Screen flickers with AC adaptor
I have a 2 year old Dell XPS M140. The screen flickers a bit when it is plugged in. The flickering is similar to reading a book by candle light. When I unplug the adaptor, the screen brightens and looks fine while on battery power. Any ideas what the problem might be?

Re: Screen flickers with AC adaptor
Is the adaptor original DELL? Have you tried any other AC adapter?

Re: Screen flickers with AC adaptor
I am using the original adapter. My flickering turned into an overall failure. The screen went from flickering, to a faded red hue, to complete black. I have since plugged the laptop into another desktop monitor. The laptop screen still comes back when you first power up. It is dim and eveything has that red hue to it. It then turns off completely. I think the lamp needs to be replaced.

Re: Screen flickers with AC adaptor
Yep.. red tint/hue means a failing backlight.
