Fan not working properly
I have a 2 year old hp pavilion dv2000. Recently, it started making really loud whirring noises, which i thought were because of the fan being clogged up. It was out of warranty so I opened it up and cleaned it. I thought that would solve my problem but it started making those noises again recently. I tried sticking a paperclip in the fan to make it stop, to make sure that the sound was coming from the fan, and it did stop. I think it's a bearing in the fan that's failing. What should I do at this point? I don't want to replace the computer. Is it possible to replace the fan at a reasonable cost?
Thanks. |
