[SOLVED] cd/dvd driver corrupt or missing (code 39)

I have an HP laptop with Vista and Im receiving an error in my cd/dvd driver with the code 39 saying that my driver is either corrupt or missing. I deleted the upper and lower filters and rebooted. I still have the same error. I have a matshita driver......Can someone please help me out???

in the device manager uninstall the drive and reboot
