ati2dvag infinite loop problem on Toshiba Laptop.

Hello, I'm new here but I'm apparently having an age old problem. I'm running Windows XP on a Toshiba Satellite M55-S139 and I see a BSOD explaining the ati2dvag infinite loop problem. I've tried the suggestion above, the PCU registry thing and uninstalling the driver for the one that came with the system but no dice. Can anyone help me? By the way, I'm forced to type this on my iPod touch.

I tried updating the BIOS and I'm still seeing the same thing. I also tried the suggestion above and nothing.

Have you tried uninstalling the drivers in Device Manager and in ADD/REMOVE? Download from Toshiba website the drivers and reinstall.

I can now tell everyone with absolute certainty that my problem is a hardware problem.

1. I tried deactivating the driver itself, only to find massively buggy (nigh unusable) results.

2. I tried installing a different driver to no avail.

3. I tried updating the BIOS. No luck there.

4. Out of desperation, I tried to use a driver for Vista hoping it was backwards compatible. No dice...

5. Then I tried a full system restore, but was then greeted w/ the same BSOD.

I'm out of ideas. Suggestions?

Have you tried removing any ATI related programs in StartUP (use msconfig).?
