compaq presario v6000 reboots after 20 sec

My friend gave me his laptop cause it would not work and he got a new one. It is a compac presario v6000 the constantly reboots every 20 sec. Does not show the BIOS or anything. I have removed the battery pressed the pwoer button and nothing. removed each memory stick and nothing disconnected the wireless card and so on. Don't know what else to try.

Have you checked the lappys vent system air intake / fan spins? / exhaust vent clean? could be overheating CPU.
