Mistake Random Video Slowdowns.

Hello All,

I am having a little trouble with my laptop. An Acer Aspire 5100 with an ATI Radeon Express 1100 with 2 gigs of RAM. Anyway, after having to reboot several times due to virus issues I have had random video slowdowns on various websites such as youtube and the like. This even happens when I run games off of a disc or anything like that. Though this does NOT happen with music such as in iTunes. I have read previous threads that said to defrag but I did that, as well as turn off my anti-virus but I am pretty sure that AVG free is one of the lighter antivirus programs.

Can anyone help me out here?

Even after rebooting completely? restoring everything? i find that hard to believe. Yes i have and it is the same problem. I am starting to believe it is a problem with the video card or something like that.

Re: Random Video Slowdowns.

I am reading what you posted I thnk it may be a virus with your video slowdowns in browsers and games.
If it was just slowdowns in games it would be obvious because of your graphics card but its your browser too so I think your computer may be infected...

is a video on your hard drive slow to playback?
what settings do you use to play games?
the videos on the net use a tiny tiny amount of your video card

can you post your system specs with EVEREST
http://www.lavalys.com/

can you post your a picture of the performance tab on your taskmanger
and use CPU-Z for system temps
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

I'm thinking this may have to do with your cpu usage than your video card
