Pavillion XH555 laptop won't start up

Hi.

I have a Pavillion XH555 laptop with Windows XP installed. The computer had been taking longer and longer to turn on, sometimes after turning the switch on and off for 15 to 20 minutes, the laptop would turn on and work as usual.

This has been going on for around a month and as of today, it won't turn on at all. I hear the sound of the hard drive, see the green light at the on/off switch flash but nothing else happens with the laptop.

Is it done or is there something else that can be done for it?

Are you running on AC or battery?

Running on AC. Yesterday, it came back on after many tries, so we know that the motherboard isn't shot but something IS wrong, I just don't know what it is.

Ok so when you press power ON (and assuming it has the symptom as you said that it won't startup), what usually happens (i.e. nothing or you can hear fan spin, LEDs light up, etc.)?
