I have a dell e1505 and just reinstalled a fresh version of windows XP. I no longer have a cd with all the drivers on it. I have no sound and am unable to connect to the internet. I went to dell's website but am unsure as to what drivers I need to download for the hardware I have. I input my service key to generate a list of the hardware I have in my system but I'm not able to make since of it. Is there anyone here who could take at look at this list and help me determine what drivers I actually need? At least what driver I will need for my chipset and networking so I can get on the internet at home to figure the rest of this out(I'm at a relatives house).

This should get you on the net through your LAN (Hardwired)

*Now the tricky part. If you download Everest under my signature and run it. The program will provide a report.
Post the report to the thread. This report will tell me what hardware you have. This way I can give you the correct drivers (no guessing).

Also go to your device manager. You will see a list of errors (yellow !)
Post a screenshot or tell me what you find for errors.

Thanks so much for the help!

I got the driver for my chipset installed, I think. It appeared to install successfully but how do I verify this? I downloaded the Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller driver and attempted to install it and it said the file was part of a multi disk zip file and requested the next disk. Not sure what I'm supposed to do.

Try downloading it again. It sounds as if it is corrupted. Are you following the install instuctions?

So you are now on the net, Correct?
Have you cleared ALL the errors in the device Manager?
You may not be done. Have you downloaded any Dell utilities(I did not POST these).
I want to get the computer to where it is working (NO Errors), but there are Dell Utilities you may want to consider.

Woops, I still have "?" next to Other Devices and three "!" each next to Base System Device under the Other Devices heading.

I am on the net and also installed drivers for my video card, chipset, proset wireless, onboard audio, and touchpad.
