Acer Aspire 3000 Upgrade on a budget

Hi Guys,
I have an Acer Aspire 3000 I upgraded the memory to 704mb when I bought 3 or 4 years ago. It's got to the stage now when I need to upgrade the memory again as well as the HDD as 40gb is not enough these days
Just wondered if anyone had some advice on what to buy, what is compatible and what is worth it, I don't wanna spend much so cheaper the better.
Thanks a lot

Re: Acer Aspire 3000 Upgrade on a budget

Hi, you have to check with the manual to find the maxium amount of ram it can take. The for the hard drive, you have to find the type of hard drive (probably ata). This can go up to any size.
You may have a little problem getting the OS back on, but I wouldnt think it would be too bad for just the ram and hard drive.
Typically I look at www.newegg.com for prices but just shop around to get the idea. Prices are based on the size and type of everything you get.
