[SOLVED] Upgrading an Advent 7077

Hey, i'm thinking of either upgrading my current laptop or getting a new one if it's not possible (i'm liking the look of a Sony Vaio!)

Heres some basic specs I found about it. http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/advent/laptop/7077.htm

I've found these 2 item which are about what i'd like to add to it. Are these compatable?
RAM: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NBM-67/2GB
Video Card: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?SAP-26P5A

If any more information is needed, let me know and i'll try and find it out for you. Cheers for your help.

As for the RAM, get a DDR.. the link you provided showed a DDR2. Also check with memory advisor in Crucial.com website to be sure on what type of RAM you need.

As for the video... the link you provided showed something for a desktop.

Re: Upgrading an Advent 7077

The scanner on there came up with;

Maximum Memory Capacity: 3145728 MB
Currently Installed Memory: 512 MB
Available Memory Slots: 1
Number of Banks: 2
Dual Channel Support: N.A.
CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel
CPU Family: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz Model 4, Stepping 1
CPU Speed: 3400 MHz

And my current memory is 512 MB DDR PC2700. If it has an available memory slot, can I put a 2GB one in there and use both?

And i'm struggling to find video cards for laptops? Any help?

Edit: Would this memory be better? http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NBM-40/1G

And i'm struggling to find video cards for laptops? Any help? -- most laptops have integrated video cards (part of mobo). I am not familiar with your model, so you might check your specs or call Advent to know if it is integrated or not.

"Maximum Memory Capacity: 3145728 MB "

Is that the maximum it will take in there? That link looks good, it won't matter that it's an American site will it? Although I bet it will cost a lot to ship over here...

I know it's an intergrated video card. Does this make it impossible to upgrade? Looks like I could be splashing out on a new laptop then... don't really want to though...
