Satellite P30-133 Display Problem
Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellte P30-133 Laptop. I hibernated the laptop and on switching on again I found there was no display. On closer inspection of the screen it was possible to just about see the normal display. On connecting an external monitor the display appeared as normal. This happened a couple of days ago. Everytime I started the laptop no display until yesterday. The display returned although the brightness was not quite as good as prior to this problem. Today extremely faint laptop display but monitor working ok. Is this a power supply problem or is it a screen problem? Any thoughts , advice etc. gratefully received. Best regards, Dave47 |

Re: Satellite P30-133 Display Problem
Hi Dave,
It looks like the backlight or the inverter is about to go.. thus the faint/dim screen. If you want to DIY, start with the inverter.

Re: Satellite P30-133 Display Problem
Hi TriggerFinger,
Many thanks for the info. As I am currently in the wilds of the French countryside, can you please give me some more information. I have built my own desktop computer, but I have never taken this Toshiba laptop apart. Therefore can you please advise on where I can find instructions for taken it apart, where is the best place to source spares and anything else you may think appropriate. |
