HP Laptop problem

Hey there, This might be in the wrong sub forum...

Recently, I got a virus on my laptop. I had to re-format it with windows XP. When I tried to use my camtasia program (screen recorder) It said

"The procedure entry point WMCreateReader could not be located in the dynamic link library WMVcore.Dll."

I heard somewhere that if I downloaded Windows media player 9+ then it would fix the problem. When I went to the official Windows website, I downloaded the program and when I tried to install it I got this

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)"

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

Uninstall and reinstall the application again. If that does not work, update windows first before you install the app.
