Possibly an easy fix?
When I was deployed to Iraq I had my HP dv9000 with me. It was broken a bit and had some problems (aethestically). When I returned home my father in law gave me his dv9000 (motherboard was toast). However his screen, keyboard, cd drive and top piece that holds the key board in were all brand new looking. So I took apart both laptops and swapped the parts. The computer worked great. I took it apart again because I forgot to screw in one of the pieces (nothing to do with the problem) and when I connected everything back up it wouldn't turn on. Once I played with the ribon cable a bit I could get it to automatically turn on. I thought it was fixed until I shut it off. Since then it hasn't turned back on. I thought it could seriously be the ribbon cable but i've tried all 4 ribbon cables that go with the HP's (including the two extra I had). The metal at the tip of the ribon cables are a bit scratched but I just wanted to see what you all thought about it.

Re: Possibly an easy fix?
It should work, unless all the cables are duff (unlikely).
Try all other connections, it doesnt take much to dislodge something.
