[SOLVED] Acer 5510 won't power up

Bought it recently, secondhand, with XP installed.
To say I'm computer illiterate is an understatement, but got younger brother to check it over and he was happy.
Cut to 8 weeks later with very little use between times.....
I'm using plugged in laptop to check emails without problem, came back from a coffee break and found that it has shut down.
Tried re-starting it, with and without power cord attached, and all I get is about 2 seconds of power, then back to dead.
Any thoughts for a confused old man?!

Re: Acer 5510 won't power up

Check your ac plug INSIDE the laptop. It is very common for the ac charging jack to become loose or damaged. If it's damaged your battery will not charge and your laptop will not operate.

This is one thing to consider.

There are many shops on eBay that can repair your laptop for a flat fee.

Try removing battery and unplug AC adapter. Press and Hold power ON button for 30secs at least. Put back battery and plug back AC adapter. Power ON as normal.

Thanks for the assistance guys.
