dv2000 failed to load up

hi there,

this morning i went to start up my laptop as normal and all i could hear was the fan?

i have all the lights, no screen though.

i have two dv2000's so i swapped hard drives, and nothing.

unfortunately my warranty has expired.

any suggestions?

Try with an external monitor. If it boots and you see it on the monitor may be you have a busted LCD or backlight. If it is the backlight the LCD would still have very faint images of what is going on or your Desktop... if it is totally black, it could be the LCD assembly.

i tried everything u suggested with no luck.

the laptop has no warranty though it is on that list :(

I suggest or should I say highly recommend you call HP customer service if your laptop is on that list. You have nothing to lose anyway. Just tell them you found that document in the HP website and your laptop happens to be on that list.

Thank you Trigger, I just had to sit on the phone for about an hour and talk to someone who I couldn't understand... but I'm getting sent a box for my repair! Even though my 1 yr warranty expired 60 days ago! Great news I don't have to spend hundreds more on my computer. Hopefully it is the motherboard, if it is, it's completely free.

maybe its not on the list with dv20xx

but its under the list with dv22xx RV322UA R

so its a no :(
