HP Pavilion DV8333EA VGA modes only
Hi!
I have a problem with my laptop- HP Pavilion DV8333EA. Few days ago my girlfriend took it to the 2nd room and after connecting it to the mains it shown something about graphic bios loading error and gone in low res, 4 bits color, artifacts in graphic (going from the top to the bottom pink lines)... Probably it's well known problem in Repair Centres. After reloading Windows screen goes blank at some point and you can load it only in VGA mode. It also is working after uninstalling Nvidia drivers... but when you try to reinstall them- it once again crashes with low res and pink lines all over the screen- going from the top to the bottom. I tried to load new BIOS as instructed on HP site and I tried to do recovery format. Of course it didn't help. I also want to try reload VGA Bios but I think its to hard to do as I red it's integrated part of system BIOS (i have saved NV73 BIOS for 7600GO on my desktop PC anyway). And since i already reload system BIOS... I also made a full VGA test with MicroScope program but i think it was simple SVGA modes and mem test. Well, the last thing i want to do is to disassembly it and check visually the board, eventually reflow some of it's components with Hako at work ( I am L3 technician in Phone Repair Centre). Since I have no schematic i can only seek after BER damages (blown components, weak ciruits at VGA area etc.) Anyone knows about how to resolve that problem? This whole madness about this graphic chip seems to be just started because there is more and more people compleining and there is fast growing topic at HP Tech Support Forum. Still it might be overheated and i don't think that new compound will help for already broken GPU? |
