[SOLVED] Laptop won`t boot

When I push start button fans start momentarily but nothing shows on display,no post or anything else, then fans shut down. The only thing showing any activity are power lights on front and power button still lit but no other activity.

Re: Laptop won`t boot

I presume you are running off a/c power and not the battery? It sounds like a hardware issue (of course). I would try taking the battery out (yes.. its been the battery before for me). I would also try removing the hard drive and if you can without too much trouble the dvd drive. If you have more than one stick of ram take out one of the two. Also make sure you haven't got the fans covered and that all the fans are working.

Re: Laptop won`t boot

This could be quite tricky... it is either it does not POST (no HDD or CD/DVD drive activity) or you just have a defective LCD. Try with an external monitor if it is the latter.
