Windows Installation Errors Latitude D810

So I am trying to reinstall windows on my Dell Latitude D810 and am running into a lot of trouble. I do not have my installation discs anymore so I am using another copy I received from a friend that he never used. I get all the way to the blue screen that says it is installing windows but I keep getting errors during the process. I get a box that pops up saying search for files or cancel. I hit cancel and then it asks if I want to continue and I hit ok. Why would I be getting so many errors? I have probably seen that box pop up with an error like 15 times so far. Am I doing something wrong? I have installed windows on desktops many times with no issues. Please let me know if you have any idea of what I am doing or what I can do. Thanks!

I believe you can install from recovery partition. Is the HDD original (the one that came with the laptop when bought from the store)? If so, try the steps here:

Re: Windows Installation Errors Latitude D810

cresing, I just joined the forum, and came across your post, and I see that your going through what I just went through about 2 weeks ago. Follow the link to the Dell site, and you will as I did, find the necessary steps to take in order for Dell to send you what you need. Hope this helps.
