Hi guys,
I have a laptop here that has a Bios password set and also a windows vista password, when the guy gave it to me and asked me to fix it i thought easy.... How wrong was I... First thing i tried was to boot using a linux cd containing a windows vista "crack" to reset the password... the computer will not boot from CD. I have tried removing the Hard drive and then booting from cd and then plugging the hard drive back in, but this seems to make it write protected. :| Not being able to get into windows, i have tried to attack the bios. First i tried the remove battery trick and left it out for over an hour and still we have a password, I have since tried the jumpers on the motherboard to reset the pass, and i have even made a ms dos boot disk with the acer bios flashing utill on it... The bios has been flashed and we still have a password. My main questions is... Is there anything else I can do? The computer in question is a acer aspire 2920, I have the service manual for it so taking it apart isnt a problem. Any help from you guys would be fantastic ;) Cheers |

Re: Lost Bios Password, and cannot boot computer.
Acer Customer Service can surely help you with this BIOS password thing. Unfortunately we in TSF are not allowed to assist in this type of inquiry.
