Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M1450 Series.
When I turn my laptop on this appears 'Pri MAster Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD, Backup and Replace Press F2 to Resume' Pressing F2 takes me to the BIOS setup utility, but after exiting I can use my laptop normally. This isn't my problem though, but maybe someone could tell me what to do about that. HOWEVER The other night I defragmented my hard drive and now my laptop won't even come on. When I turn it on it asks me to either start windows normally, start in safe mode etc. But no matter what I select it restarts itself after the windows xp loading screen. The green bar flashes along three times and then a blue screen flashes on for like a second and then it reboots itself. I seriously do not know what to do. If anyone can help me that would be great. - Bobick |

Re: Laptop restarts after windows xp screen - HELP
Looks like you have dying hard drive. Consider replacement or you can run a diagnostic tool to test your hard drive just to validate... but just be prepared to replace as this may be required.

Re: Laptop restarts after windows xp screen - HELP
Hi Bobick,
Yes, sadly that is the effect. Sorry as for your question on how to do it... I do not quite understand. If you mean replacing the hard drive, use the service manual or have it replaced by a repair shop.
