My brothers-in-law laptop has to be forced shutdown
When I mean forced shutdown. I mean he has to hold down the power button to turn it off not always but enough to complain about it. I need your help. It is a pretty new laptop he got it in May of this year. Its a HP Pavilion dv2713ca laptop. I have updated the BIOS for him and also updated the graphics drivers on it. Ran the Windows Update. Has got all the latest stuff from Microsoft. I told him it could be a battery issue or a virus, trojan or spyware of some kind. Not sure what to do next.
He just starts using it and everything is frozen not able to click or use the mouse. Not sure what the technical name is but the blue swirly thing in Windows Vista comes up right next to the mouse cursor and just sits there doing something. He then has to force the computer to shut off and restarts the computer and hopes it won't happen again but it does. He got it with Vista preinstalled. He would like it to be fixed at home without taking it to Best Buy to be fixed. Because he needs it for work and school. Is this kind of issue fixed at home or does he have to take it to Best Buy? I hope someone can help. Thanks |
