Toshiba satellite a15-s1292 overheating

This is my first post and I've tried searching for related threads but none helped completely. I recently have be getting pop-up messages saying cooling system failure, return for service. I replaced the cooling fan and the heatsink but it still says the same thing. Upon removing the heatsink i saw some light purple sticky substance on the heatsink. Is this a compound that i need to reapply or is it something melted? Also is there any other component that i should check or replace?

If it is between the CPU and the heatsink then it is the thermal compound. You need to reapply it when you replace CPU or heatsink or both.
