Acer Notebook Video Driver Problem

My cousin came back from Australia with an Asus Laptop that his bro gave him. The problem is that the Laptop came without any driver CDs or anything, it was used for some time...
anyways, my cousin is not very good with laptops or any PCs, so he accidentally deleted the ATI Radeon Mibility X700 Driver, and now I have tried every possible way to reinstall the driver, without any positive results, tried : Restore, Install Catalyst drivers for Mobility X700.
all that failed. and to make it worse, there is no Backup CD for the Laptop, of course he was stupid enough not to bring a Backup CD with the Windows XP on it

so is there any possible solution for the problem??

Any help would be appreciated.

Download the video driver from ACER website.

Sorry for the misunderstood, the Laptop was Asus, I think it is Asus W2v, and I'm downloading the Driver from Asus Website, thanx for the help
