Cant Boot my Laptop

I have a note-book HP Pavilion dv6000 and I cant boot the OS , it appears on the screen A disk read error occurred Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart ,after I do so it wont restart .Any suggestion pls.

Does your laptop have a floppy drive? If not check your BIOS settings (boot order/boot sequence). Change the order and make CD/DVD drive appear on top of the list. Place HDD as second. If you do not have floppy drive try to disable or place it as third or last on the list.

are you able to get into safemode. If so, try to do a system restore to a previously saved restore point.

my laptop d'snt have a floppy drive as far ad I can see .I followed your instructions but it want boot,same message A disk read error occurred and thats means that iam not able to get into safemode
