Hi everybody!
I am currently using a Toshiba Satellite P205D-S7802 as my mobile laptop for the time being, and I've been having this irritating problem whenever I try to use the s-video out function of the on-board video card (ATI Radeon X1200 Series). What I'm trying to do is watch a DVD on my television, so I have the TV set as "Extend Main onto TV." ![]() So when I have the movie playing on the television, I close the lid of my laptop and the screen flashes on the TV and finally goes out. Is there a solution to this frustrating problem? I leave my laptop slightly cracked open so I can watch it without problems, but it's starting to get on my nerves. Edit: Oh, and here are my specs if anybody needs 'em: Processor: AMD Turion™ x64 [X2] Mobile Technology TL-58 (two processors) Display Adapter: Integrated ATI Radeon™ X1200 Series Wireless Network Adapter: Atheros AVR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter Sound Device: RealTek High Definition Audio Disk Drive: Toshiba MK1637GSX (ATA Device) Human Interface Device (Keyboard): Enhanced (101/102 keys) Human Pointing Device (Trackpad): Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad Removable Media Drive: Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850S (ATA Device) Network Adapter: RealTek RTL8101E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 60) IDE Controller: AMD SATA Controller (Native IDE Mode) PCMCIA Controller: Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Cardbus Controller USB Controller: Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller Modem: Toshiba Software Modem Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor SD Host Adapter: SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller Storage Controller: Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Universal Serial Bus Controller (1): Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller Universal Serial Bus Controller (2): Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller

Re: [[TOSHIBA]] Satellite P205D-S7802 - Video Out Frustration
See your BIOS settings if you can set ACPI to OFF/Disable. I have read also that you can disable ACPI in XP but when you change your mind and want to enable it, you will be forced to reinstall XP. I have not tried either of this yet and I cannot really say if they work.
