I am getting the following message:
"Windows cannot locate the device driver for the hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Familiar to anyone? |

Have done that. Uninstalled device, rebooted, scanned for new hardware and still keep getting message.
Also have tried deleting the Upper and Lower filter from registry, but no joy... |

uninstall and reinstall any burning software
in the device manager what has yellow alongside of it's entry check the laptop makers download page for your laptop model for a driver

Hi,
Out of frustrations, I uninstalled Realtek Ac97 device (had a yellow warning sign on), scanned for new hardware and you guessed it, had my cd-rom and all working. Thanks for the advice.
