HP Pavillion dv2310us blank laptop screen

I have an HP Pavillion dv210us blank laptop screen. I can hook up my laptop to an external monitor and that works but the screen is blank. If I hold a flashlight at an angle I can get a faint image. Also I do not hear any sort of noise or at least I cant hear one coming from my screen (I heard sometimes you hear a hiss from the screen). Does this sound like I can replace my inverter or backlight bulb?

Yeah I'd say the backlight is blown. It can be replaced.
