Is this possible?

Is there a way I could remove the wireless internet card in my laptop and install it on a desktop computer?

My laptop is a Dell Latitude D610 if that matters.

Edit: Or perhaps even connect my laptop to my desktop and route the wireless internet to my desktop from my laptop?

Re: Is this possible?

You won't be able to put your laptop wifi card in your desktop.

The only way I can think of to connect the two to share a wireless connection would be to use a crossover ethernet cable between the two (assuming they both have wired network cards). That would allow network communication between the two machines, and you could setup your laptop to share its internet connection.

You'd have to make sure you buy a specific crossover cable, as a normal cat5 cable won't work. A crossover cable is wired with one connector wired essentially opposite the other. I think you can still find them at Wal Mart and the likes.
