Acer Aspire 5100 Resolution Issues
Hello.
This laptop had a pre-installed version of Vista, I overwrote it with XP x64. After installing all essential drivers, I'm left with one problem - the max resolution of 1024x768, instead of 1200x800 (what I'm trying to get to). The laptop has an ATI Radeon Xpress 200m Series graphic chip, which I assume is responsible for the display and resolution settings. I've tried to install the drivers (about 6 times) but rather unsuccessfully. I'm assuming I need some kind of a vga, monitor, ati driver... Can anyone please help me out? --- On another note, when windows starts, I get a popup window. "Boot.exe" - Ordinal Not Found The ordinal 24 could not be located in the dynamic link library POWRPROF.DLL. How do I get rid of this? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Acer Aspire 5100 Resolution Issues
Never mind the first question, I've managed to find the solution.
http://www.driverheaven.net/windows-...-inf-file.html The second "Boot.exe" issue, however, remains to be a problem. |

I have an Acer Aspire 5100
Windows XP Professional x64 and Ultimate Ubuntu 2.0 x64 Perhaps the best solution is to check Windows Update. Make sure you choose CUSTOM for your installation option. Then check for HARDWARE updates. After hours of trying to install, tweak and even REINSTALL OS!!!! ![]() I finally realized that microsoft scans your system for hardware updates automatically! I hope your search finally ends here!
