BSOD flashed, now constant auto-restart - will not boot
This morning, I had my first BSOD on my laptop. (~2 years old - Special Edition HP dv6500/CT Pavilion Notebook PC running XP SP3 and Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7100.)
I get the BSOD and it isn't even there for a second. My laptop automatically reboots and now there isn't even anything coming up on the screen. I just see the lights on the keyboard come on as it reboots, and I can hear the drives running, but then it crashes and reboots again... like this over and over and over. Nothing on the screen whatsoever. I've seen some posts with this problem, but none where the screen isn't coming up. Here's what was plugged into it at the time: - iPod nano (I had just received sync errors saying the sync files could not be located for the nano. I thought it had something to do with the itunes update it was making me download at the time. maybe not?) - 500GB WD external HD - HP printer - wireless mouse I can't obviously recall all of the programs that were running at the time but I know that I was checking email in Firefox, running iTunes, and downloading the iTunes 8.0.1 updates... so I'm guessing those would have been taking up the most resources at the time. Please tell me there's some way to save this.... I have no idea where to start. I don't have it with me at the moment since I'm at work, but suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more info I can try to answer the best I can for now. Thanks for your help.
