laptop help!

helo
i have a gateway laptop which causes to many problems
neway heres the story
for the past couple of months the laptop has been playing up each time it does this i have done a system restore. after doing system restore the laptop goes back to normal and starts working then after a couple of weeks the problem occurs again.
its takes long time for the laptop to start up well longer then it normally does. the internet also stops working i cant go on the internet but the wireless network is connected. can anyone please help solve the problem.
i dont know much about computing stuff jus the basics so you will have to bare with me.

I guess you need to run some diags to test your system. Like for instance, run Memtest86+ to test your RAM. Also run an HDD diagnostic. Most HDD brands have their own diagnostic tool. Click on the HDD Diags link on my sig to see the tool for your HDD.

thank you for the advice. i went on the HDD diags site but i cant find it for ma laptop unless i just cant see it?

Use Hitachi Drive Fitness Test instead....
