[SOLVED] Lenovo w/XP
I have two IBM thinkpads with the same issue. It seems to be an issue with the Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG Network Driver and the pc. It keeps on gettin the error Windows Wireless Management has shut down along with the services. I have linked it to some sort of problem with Symantac Anti-virus. I got the newest version of Symantac. I am going to be playing with this all day. One laptop is a R61i with XP and the other is an X60s. The X60s has SP3 and the R61i has SP3. I need to find a stable solution to this issue asap!

Re: Lenovo w/XP
Try to reinstall the device and see. Also you can try updating the drivers from Intel website. They might have a solution for this issue already.

Re: Lenovo w/XP
The issue is Lenovo has their own intel driver, Ive already installed their driver the newest version and as soon as I reboot, I get the blue screen of death and it will not boot the os. I go into safe mode uninstall the device again and it will run. I got an older driver installed and now its not picking up any wireless signals. This is frusterating. I think I got the R61i running well, the problem is more with the X60s right now. No luck what so ever!

Re: Lenovo w/XP
Ok well I have a solution.... Remove SP3 if its already on there, remove ThinkAdvantage Access which is the Wireless control for ThinkPads, Uninstall the driver. Go to the intel site and get the newest verison which right now is 12.0. something or other download it, then check out the lenovo site there is a Microsoft Windows XP Hot fix. Install in the following order....
1) Hotfix 2) Newest Driver followed by a reboot 3) SP3 4) Install Symantec Antivirus 5) Run Lenovo Update and install ThinkVantage Access Lastly I suggest you make an image including boot sectors with ghost because going through all that was a pain in the ***!!! |
