there is a 160 GB 2.5 inch S-ATA HD in my Acer Aspire 5920G.
The laptop is not in a working state as their is a problem with the display board and i would like to get a new laptop rather than repair this one. I would like to know what is the procedure to retrieve all the data on this hard disk. Currently going thru: http://ezinearticles.com/?How-To-Rec...ptop&id=777394 |

Re: Retrieve data from laptop hard dsik

Are you planning to retrieve the data using a desktop computer? If so, does the desktop computer support SATA? If so you can probably just plug it into the desktop using available connectors (SATA connectors (both power and data) are the same for 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives). If it doesn't support SATA, or you're recovering from another laptop, you can use an external USB or FireWire enclosure. Just make sure you get one that accepts 2.5" SATA drives. |
