My Laptop Keeps Restarting I Need Help!

Hey recently my laptop decided it was going to shut down while I was browsing the internet. The computer just shut down without warning at all. Now when I try to turn it back on, it loads all the way up to where the log in screen then the screen turns black and restarts. This happens over and over and keeps restarting. What went wrong? Is it something that I can fix or maybe take my hard drive out and put it in a new laptop? Or am I screwed and I probably have to forget about saving all of my files on my laptop?

Run HDD diagnostics first. If HDD is clear of errors, run CHKDSK /R in Recovery Console using XP installation CD (retail).
