my compaq laptop is gettin heated....

hi guys,,
wat yo think the problem is... when i switch on my laptop the left bottom is gettin heated...sometims it switches off automatically...it runs for very fews min...i dono wats the problem...if i get that in to compaq service centre they charge more...i think so...so how can yo solve it...

Check your service manual and find out what device is located in that area. If it is the battery try to remove it while on AC. Also start cleaning the vents./heatsink/fan areas. This helps get rid of dust and other unwanted materials that clogged the air flow.

After cleaning any dust out of your PC, consider getting a chill mat or angled stand.

Also, make sure you don't cover any of the vents. While it's called a "laptop" you really shouldn't set it on anything soft, including your lap. Every laptop I've seen has intake vents on the bottom, and setting the unit on anything soft will block these vents.

guys...m afraid of openin my laptop..cuz m not a hardware professional ..if i do any mistakes thts it over...but i changed the power management to minimal...now the heat it getin low...actually tis heat itself shud not be there i laps..i thnk the problem might be in the battery...wat yo thinkl guys...
