Pull plug from laptop or from wall socket first or last

Yes yes indeed!!! Can someone (or more) please inform me what is the best to do if there is a best ...

1) Toshiba laptop - does one pull the plug from the AC (wall socket) before one unplugs the cord from the laptop

2) or does it matter if one unplugs the cord from the laptop, leaving the powercord plugged into the all at all times

Your instruction(s) will be much appreciated. Thanks!

1) Toshiba laptop - does one pull the plug from the AC (wall socket) before one unplugs the cord from the laptop -- no rules but by practice I plug from the wall outlet first.

2) or does it matter if one unplugs the cord from the laptop, leaving the powercord plugged into the all at all times - again no rules but it is best to unplug them all for safety reasons.

Your instruction(s) will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Well no doubt about it TriggerFinger, your explanation and instruction(s) were quite profound. Nothing said mind ya, but profound. Maybe someone else could come in on this and give a bit less "detailed" explanation, but an explanation. :-}

With most chargers, it doesn't matter which end you unplug first.

With most batteries, if the charger is not plugged into a live outlet, the charger should be unplugged from the device. I'm not sure about newer battery/charger sets, but older ones the charger could drain the battery.

Re: Pull plug from laptop or from wall socket first or last

Would you say it matters or not if the powercord is constantly plugged into the wall, say at least for a year now?

it would be better if it were plugged into a surge protector. but as far as leaving it plugged in, should be no problem. Mines been plugged in for a couple of years.

Actually Sobeit, mine is plugged into a surge protector. So I'm gaining from you good folks, that nothing should be harmed leaving it plugged in. I notice mine is very cool to touch and not glowing red or anything. Appreciate the feedback on this thread and the help given!!!
