[SOLVED] Toshiba WIFI component replacement

Hi all,

Many thanks to TechSupportForum.

Here's my problem , my 4 years old Toshiba satellite A50 , bought in Singapore showing sign of aging since 10 days.

While surfing, WIFI connection got disconnected very often, i thought it could be problem with ISP's access point, so i monitored wireless connections with "Network Stumbler" it showed no active Access points at the moment of my WIFI disconnection,I have usually 19 reachable APs.

Is there any possibility to replace built-in WIFI component of my laptop?

My laptop model is : PSA50L-030006.

Advance Thanks,
zorex

Re: Toshiba WIFI component replacement

I believe they can be replaced. I am just not sure of the location, probably somewhere at the bottom. To be sure get a service manual for procedure in removal and replacement (see www.irisvista.com).

I think you can use any WiFi card as long as it fits the socket. Sadly some laptops do not allow this and would force you to get the original makers sell.
