Rescued HDD? HELP Please!
Good afternoon everyone.
I managed to remove a HDD from an old laptop that was on its last legs! I have now purchased a replacement and have created a new partition. I have a USB caddy and would like to clone the old HDD onto the new partition and effectively have a dual boot machine... This is needed because the old HDD had many programs on it that we need to keep. I have tried Ghost & acronis but they don't 'see' the USB hard drive... Does anyone have a simple solution/software that I could use? Many thanks Russ |

Re: Rescued HDD? HELP Please!
I am not so sure how you are doing this but if you are cloning it using the laptop, how about trying it on a PC. The downside of this is that you may need to USB enclosures to house the two drives. I have not done this myself but for the laptop not recognizing the USB port may be more of a BIOS issue thus Ghost/Acronis cannot see it.
