Laptop lcd screen issue easy fix?

I just bought a gateway p-6831fx on ebay from a company which they said all it needed was vista installed, and an ac adaptor. I bought the ac adaptor, and am installing vista right now.

I noticed when I turned it on it has a few black lines in the left corner of the screen. I rubbed my finger across it, and its not broken glass so I don't know whats wrong or what to do.

Re: Laptop lcd screen issue easy fix?

The listing also said the hard drive was cleared using (department of defense) , but that is false. I couldn't install vista cause the registry couldn't update. So I am using KILLDISK which is probably what dealtree should of used.

If of course I can't fix this issue I am returning it. I could care less about the monitor issue, but if somebody could tell me how to fix that it would be nice. Even when the computer is shut off you can still see the black in the bottom left corner.

Re: Laptop lcd screen issue easy fix?

I've been messing around with the screen, and don't know what I did worked.

The black lines are still there, but not as bad as they where.

Re: Laptop lcd screen issue easy fix?

Well thanks for the help. The laptop just stopped reading the hard drive so I am trying another.

The LCD IS FIXED!!!

I am amazing when it comes to stuff like this. I still think that Dealtree owes me money cause of the time, and hard drive, and other issues.

Re: Laptop lcd screen issue easy fix?

I assure you that if I got a technician to look at it the technician would just say buy a new lcd, but if I look at it I say I can fix it or get info. on how to fix it. I searched google, and couldn't find anything so I figured this out on my own. I know that I could sell this info to people, but some would think this trick was done with photoshop, but I am not one of them people that have time or money on my hands, cause you need time and money for photoshop. I don't even know how to use it that well either. I took a few courses at school for some projects, but that was it. I forgot almost everything.
