Sound card troubles after re-format[moved from xp]
Hello,
I've recently installed Microsoft XP Pro SP2 on my computer. I have a Compaq Presario V2000. After the re-format, my sound card is not listed in the device manager. Here are my system specs: OS: Microsoft XP Pro Build 2600 System Model: Hewlett-Packard Presario V2000 Rev 1 Processor: 1.80 gigahertz AMD Turion 64 1024 kilobyte primary memory cache Board: Quanta 3093 47.0E Bus Clock: 200 megahertz BIOS: Hewlett-Packard F.13 10/19/2005 Etc. I've gone to the Compaq website and downloaded the appropriate sound drivers for my laptop model, however these drivers always end in 'FAILURE' I was just wondering if anyone has any information on how to fix this problem. Thanks! |

Re: Sound card troubles after re-format[moved from xp]
if it is a HD chip have you installed this driver first
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...3180330&dlc=en and rebooted then installed the audio driver
