Dell Inspiron stuck on "press any key to boot from CD"

like the title says im stuck one "press any key to boot from CD...."

This Dell is about a month young. It was just serviced for a new hard drive (as the old one wasn't being seen by the bios or any other computer for that matter). With the new drive i got to the desktop a few times.

Now when I turn it on I get stuck on the Dell logo for about 5 minutes (no exaggeration). I wanted to put XP on it anyway so I loaded that on and got rid of Vista. Figuring that this may help. Once the installation needed to reboot to finish installing.. the computer got stuck on "press any key to boot from CD"

i removed the battery on the motherboard in case that turned out to be the problem. it actually made it worse at first lol giving me a different error but now im back to being stuck on "press any key to boot from CD".

btw the hard drive has been in the computer only a couple days and yes i did remove the CD it came up with a white blinking line instead

Re: Dell Inspiron stuck on "press any key to boot from CD"

the f6 is used during the inicial install when it asks
do you wish to load 3rd party drivers
the inicial load goes into ram and it hands over to the hard drive on the first reboot
is this where it is stopping
