Hi,
Thanks in advance for your help. I have a laptop that is/was running XP. My problems started after the computer ran out of batteries when XP was updating. Now, everytime I turn it in, I just get a black screen with this text at the top and a blinking underscore at the end: MSI-1039-M56P ATOMBIOS 9.12.1.12_CL249402 Hitting buttons does absolutely nothing. Pressing delete when the computer first turns on also does nothing. I inserted my original XP to see if I could boot from CD. And actually, the first time I did this it gave me the option to boot from the CD. I did, and it was working, but then it froze the first time when I tried to delete the main partition to just do a reinstall. Then, the second time I tried to just repair it, and that also froze. Now, I don't get the option to boot from the cd anymore, just the black screen with that line of text at the top. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris |

Re: Computer, including bios, won't start. This line displays on screen.......
Laptops are usually set to boot from the CD drive. Have you tried booting with the CD in the drive?
If not , can you get into the Bios and then set it to boot from the CD? Try looking on the bottom of the comp to see if there is a re-set button,(some do some don't). Laptops usually don't have the option of SAFE mode enabled, if you can get into the Bios look for the Safe mode option and enable it. If that works just remember to disable after other wise it will keep booting into Safe. Good luck! |

Re: Computer, including bios, won't start. This line displays on screen.......
I have tried booting with the CD in the drive and I still just get the black screen with the line of text at the top.
I can't get to the bios either, the computer gives me opportunity to get there. My computer also doesn't have a reset button. Luckily, my computer is still under warranty I think I will just have to give them a call sometime. Thanks |
