Re: Why iam getting this message

That message sounds like a virus to me. Run a virus scan and see if your AV picks up anything.

What 'program' generated it?

Re: Why iam getting this message

You can leave avast on, but if it's not registering with the Windows Security Centre, the issue may well be malware related.

Could you post a screenshot of the error message here please.

Re: Why iam getting this message

The whole picture is black?

That usually happens if you try to take a screenshot from a video.

If you followed all the steps in the article, I can't see where you'd go wrong.

Post the pic here anyways so we can see if it can be corrected.

Re: Why iam getting this message

Well i'm trying to take sceenshot of my laptop screen, where the message is continiously on below right hand side, near clock.

I tried more then 10 to 15 times but after checking on laptop screen to see the image how it looks like,it showing me totally blank.

Now i guess there is another problem in my system.well the message is like this.

YOU MAY BE A VICTIM OF SOFTWARE COUNTERFEITING
This copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation

Ask for GENUINE MICROSOFT SOFTWARE.

My laptop is running well it looks, only background image disappears, the the screen looks full black and showing desktop icons, task bar and so on...

Re: Why iam getting this message

Yes exactly this is what it showing.

Last time when i format my laptop outside in local shop, they have install this sevice pack 2.Now whom to trust in this world i don't know.

What can be done on this issue?

Is it a malware,or any kind of virus or just need to re format with genuine copy of windows xp.where to get original copy from, here it is 240$ which is very expensive, and will be rare in use and not sure they are selling genuine or not.

Any other Alternate option?

Thanks for your responses Jack god bless you.

Re: Why iam getting this message

That I'm afraid isn't malware. It's an actual Microsoft message.

If you are certain your copy is not genuine, there is really no other option but to purchase a genuine copy. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905474/en-us

The changing background is also caused by this.

If you choose, you can uninstall the program, but this will cause you not to receive any further updates from MS, leaving your computer less secure.

Due to TSF rules, I may not be able to tell you how to uninstall it however.
