fresh xp install stops with 34 mins to go

installs all the way up to 34 mins left and then screen goes black installing english version on a portugese hp dv6110br notebook pc, orignally a portugese xp trying to convert to english formatted partion for new install.
tried restarting pc and it opens starts windows then goes black

and welcome to the Forum

Did you disconnect all external peripherals except the monitor, keyboard and mouse, and be sure those are not USB, or wireless. Any internal USB card should also be removed.

Is this a clean install? . . you deleted the partitions and created new ones?

I've had this before on my desktop. Just used a different Windows CD.

Great Job Folks it worked, with another cd, also found slight short on power adapter, so i stay very still during installation (LOL) ok now... i can either spend hours searching on how to install the wireless internet connection via?...

i geuss card inside or I can trust My new tech friends to help, i think if i search for new hardware it may lead me there? thanks for all you help !!!

INstall the chipset driver first, then the others in any order

Installed all drivers but still wont connected,broadcom wireless unit is on. is there a way to connect laptop to my pc via usb to get any updates? installed driver after i put them on a cd, then installed into laptop.

Does the wireless router have security? . . have you entered the right WEP/WPA key?

Can you connect the laptop to the router with an ethernet cable?

When you look in Device Manager, do any of the devices show as unknown or have a yellow ! in front of them?

*yes there are yellow question marks-audio device on high definition audio bus,
modem device on high def audio bus, unknown device-only info says (location- on microsoft ACPI-compliant system. status driver not installed(code28) cant get connection to install driver.

this is the link for my model, internal wireless device, not external,yet mine says broadcom wireless is connected and shows on taskbar, also lite on front says its on. i think i have something not configure rite, cause i can get one webpage using 198.xx.xxxx in address box (microsoft something) but any other attempt says can not find connection work offline or retry taskbar says WLAN on and 2 Pc wireless connection unavailable.

cleared certificate cache and got online to msn.com trying to get to windows update, but i have 2 sets of pc moniters on taskbar with x's and one which is connected how do i rid other 2

detecting proxy settings, finding msn.com but when i try to get say www.ebay.com = page cannot be displayed also wireless connection keeps stopping and i have to constantly refresh networks

no yellow ? anymore

i can only get to msn.com

ok brain fried for today will check in later LOL
