No drives found when installing Vista

I am currently trying to install Vista Ultimate, SP1 on my computer.
After a short time of installing the computer asks me: "Where do you want to install Windows?" And none of my drives are located. At the bottom of the page it is written: "No drives were found. Click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation."

I was wondering if anyone had any idea about what to do and maybe what drivers I need to install?

I am one a Acer aspire 5613ZWLMi (notebook)

Thanks

Re: No drives found when installing Vista

Usually you can download this from ACER website. If you are from Singapore for example go to www.acer.com.sg or Australia at www.acer.com.au

Re: No drives found when installing Vista

AFAIK if you are using Vista, you need not install any HDD drivers (but I may be wrong).

Btw, is your HDD new/good and working? If you are not sure if this is working test it with some HDD diagnostics (i.e. Hitachi drive Fitness test). Use one appropriate for your HDD brand (see HDD Diags link on my sig for d/load).

Re: No drives found when installing Vista

My HDD is new and working as far as I know.. I just need some drivers (i guess) for it so my computer can identify the HDD. But I cant test it with HDD diagnostics when my computer cant find the HDD. I cant enter windows, the only think i can enter is programs running from the CD/DVD drive, and when trying to install Vista from a dvd my HDD cant be found. So I dont have a clue about what to do...

Make sure your hardware (BIOS) sees your HDD first. Running an HDD diagnostic from a CD/DVD drive to test your HDD is one way to test it. THIS IS NOT RUN FROM WINDOWS. If this tool cannot see your drive, it is either your BIOS does not support such capacity or the HDD is really defective.
