Another problem :/ can't install SATA drivers on Toshiba laptop

I couldn't install XP on my laptop in SATA mode, so I changed it to IDE (I think) in BIOS. So I got XP working fine and everything, but when I try to install the Intel Storage Manager, it says "this system does not meet the minimum requirements" even though the drivers are correct for my Laptop and OS (must be because I'm in IDE mode). I know I can slipstream drivers into my XP ISO with nLite, but the storage manager isn't a folder full of ini files, it's a setup.exe file, and I've tried "extract to folder" but it doesn't work (not a WinRAR/ZIP executable?).

Don't have a floppy drive, just CD/USB.

Thanks

you're not going to be able to install the Intel Storage Manager because you switched the hard drive to Legacy, thus it's not required. This is common practice where I work, as I've said before we have over 5,000 computers and laptops (of course not all are Sata)

Re: Another problem :/ can't install SATA drivers on Toshiba laptop

The time for you to install it was when you installed windows press F6 when it asks to install SCSI/SATA drivers. Other than that, it's set to be Legacy.

Yeah, but how do I install it by pressing F6, what do I need? I don't have a floppy drive, and to integrate the drivers into the ISO with nLite you need the seperate files, not a setup.exe file AFAIK

Some laptops have setup.exe files for their drivers but once you run them, they first create a driver folder (most often in C:). You should try this and check if it does create a drivers folder. From that you can use it with nLite.

Hmm, I tried UniExtract or something and it made a few more files, but still .exes and .cabs

I'll juse leave it as IDE or whatever
