HP ze4900 blank screen with wireless card
I have a HP ze4900, model # PR299UA. Due to where I live, we can only get dial up (yes I totally hate it). We have not really used the wireless on this laptop. We did use it in Tampa, FL on a trip, not sure how all of this works but had to plug it in so maybe it was DSL. A year later on another trip I could not get the wireless to connect, a phone service tried to help but nothing worked. Not sure if it messed up things more. As time went on, at home on dial up I went to turn the computer on and it was a blank (black) screen. Have no idea what was wrong with it. Not sure why I did it but I removed the wireless card and it worked! NOW the plug where you connect the phone line broke within the computer, I tried a few things that do not work such as a clip in wireless card, does not finish the software upload, plus bought a USB dial up modem and it states there is no software to support it. I was told by HP when I got it I should not need any. Could my driver be outdated? IF so I can not get on line to do the update. Would a new wireless card (internal) fix the problem? Has this happened to anyone else?
