Laptop Screen, again

OK so after i fixed my last laptops screen {Thanks all for the help!1!} i have become "That guy that fixed a laptop screen without buying a new one" So my brothers girlfriend got wind of this and asked me if i could fix her laptops screen. Its and Acer 5000. with 512mb ram 60gb HD and An AMD Turion Processor. when you turn it on it looks distorted, then starting from the center of the screen it turns a bright Green then dies, then it works fine for about 3 seconds then dies again. if i plug it into an external monitor, i works fine. I should also mention that the back light works and is fully adjustable. So I'm thinking LCD its self? or the inverter? id like to know what you all think before i order a part. could it be the ribbon wire that connects the screen? thanks for any help

My System

Re: Laptop Screen, again

it very well could be the cable itself, along with the lcd itself, or still possibly the motherboard. most likely not the inverter as the inverter just gives power to the lcd, bad inverters will normally cause a dim display or none at all.

Just to add...

If screen has colors or some distortion... could be the LCD. If it shows the same with the external monitor then it could be the video card/chip or motherboard. If you can swap the LCD with a spare just to be sure.
