Re: TOSHIBA P25-S526 wont turn on
If you do not get any signs of life during power On, remove battery and AC adapter. Press and hold power ON button for 30 secs at least. Put back battery and AC adapter and power ON as normal.
If that does not work, try removing HDD and CD drive and modem/WiFi. Replace or swap the RAM with a known working one. If this still does not work, consider motherboard. Bring it to a repair shop for a more in depth analysis.

Re: TOSHIBA P25-S526 wont turn on
I'd also suggest to try another charger, could easily be a bad charger not giving out the right voltage, also try and wiggling the charger plug when its plugged into the laptop, just don't be forcefull. Toshiba dc-in jacks just love to get loose connections like that.

Re: TOSHIBA P25-S526 wont turn on
well, your not even touching the power switch though. You said as soon as you plug in the ac adapter, the charge light comes on for a second then goes back out.
I just got done replacing the motherboard on a P25 a few weeks ago with the exact same problem, if nothing that Trigger, Vladimir, and myself have suggested helped any, then you would be looking at replacing the motherboard. |

Re: TOSHIBA P25-S526 wont turn on
there were a few different models of motherboards use for the P20/25 series, I would need to know the model part # to tell you the correct part number for the motherboard.
First six digits should look like PSP20U- Just need to know the last sig digits to look it up. Edit: FYI, that number is on the bottom of the laptop on the sticker with the serial number, forgot to post that in case you weren't sure where it was. Last edited by Madcatz; 08-27-2008 at 12:46 PM. |

Re: TOSHIBA P25-S526 wont turn on
K000009310 is the part number for a p25 with PSP20U-5091HU as a model part number, there are about 7 other model part numbers just for the p25-s526 series.
One other way to find out the part number for the motherboard itself is to look at where your system memory is at. Normally (not always) you will find a white sticker with a barcode and the part number on it, it should look very close to the K00000 number above. |
