Okay well, last night I stopped using my laptop because i noticed the charger had come out and it hadn't been charging and i was on 0%. So i plugged it in, put the laptop on hibernate and went to bed. This morning, I go to the laptop and shake the mouse, trying to activate it, but nothing happens, so I turn off the laptop and turn it on again. The HP screen comes up, so I know the screen's working, but then I get a black screen with a white flashing line in the top right corner of the screen. The light to show that the laptop is charging is not on, even though it is plugged in. If it IS just that the battery is dead, WHY isn't it charging!?!?!?!
PLEASE, any help would be appreciated. I leave the country on Saturday and cannot take it into a shop to be fixed because it will take too long. What should i do? Thanks any one!

Yes, there is a whirring sound like something's going on in there for about 10 seconds maybe after the HP screen disappears, but then it just sort of stops, like it's given up.

If you see the HP logo, try going to BIOS settings. Leave it at BIOS settings until as you said 'it stops'. Navigate through various pages of the BIOS settings, If it does not 'stop' or freeze or shutdown then may be i could be your hard drive.
